About the role

A great opportunity exists for an all rounded Financial Accountant, reporting to the Head of Finance, who will be responsible for our group of entities month end processes, reconciliations and reporting together with support to our Bookkeeper and dealing with customer queries. The role will be performed full time at our head office in Collingwood.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Timely and accurate completion of month end balance sheet reconciliations
• Monthly BAS and IAS Preparation
• Monthly commission calculations for sales employees
• Preparation of month sales and management report
• Submission of monthly super payments and long service leave calculations/payments
• Weekly preparation of sales and service reports
• General ledger maintenance reconciliations
• Recognising discrepancies and inconsistencies and solving them
• Using your time management skills to meet deadlines
• Responding to all customer phone and email related accounts queries
• Generation of customer invoices
• Maintain fixed asset register
• Full understanding of Bookkeeper role, together with assisting Bookkeeper with work overflow and performing duties when on leave
• Adhoc duties as and when required.

Qualities & traits

• 5+ years Accounting Experience
• Experience using xero highly desirable
• Professional ‘can do’ attitude
• Ability to accurately meet reporting requirements on time
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication
• Ability to build relationships with all stakeholders
• Highly proficient in word, excel and outlook
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workloads
• Ability to work under pressure and autonomously
• Self-starter with a strong focus on delivering high value results
• Can work unsupervised
