About the role

Based in our North Adelaide office, you will be part of a vibrant team that provides support services to the Next Gen clubs across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting into the Finance Director, you will be part of an organisation that is passionate about health, fitness and lifestyle.

In delivering the Next Gen product our people are of utmost importance and our largest resource. Managing the labour cost function is therefore crucial and accounting for and analysing these costs is a primary focus of this role.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the creation of labour cost budgets;
• Managing the time and attendance system and end-to-end payroll process;
• Regulatory reporting – preparing reconciliations and statutory returns, ensuring compliance with employee cost obligations such as superannuation, payroll tax and PAYG withholding tax;
• Preparing reports, examining and analysing labour costs to explain variances to budget and identify potential efficiencies;
• Ongoing liaison with club managers to provide advice and assistance in implementing cost saving initiatives, conducting training as required;
• Operating and maintaining accounting systems and processes to ensure appropriate controls are in place and procedures are being adhered to;
• Providing advice in regard to process improvements, assisting with selection and implementation of new systems; and
• Preparing financial reports for key stakeholders and assisting with other reporting duties, as required.

Criteria to be successful in this role includes:

• Relevant accounting qualifications (Bachelor level degree minimum);
• CA or CPA qualification (or progress towards) ideal;
• A minimum three years full-time working experience;
• Exposure to time and attendance and payroll systems (Ento, Sage MicrOpay preferrable);
• Knowledge of statutory employee cost obligations;
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; and
• Attention to detail and a desire to improve processes.
