Next Action Hiring for NTP (National Tutoring Programme) tutor Job at Bristol, England Full Time

Tutor Doctor Bristol is a leading local provider of one-to-one and small group tutoring classes in the Bristol area. We deliver academic tuition in all the subjects to school children of all ages and levels.

We are an approved Tuition Partner of the UK’s National Tutoring Programme (NTP), and hence are looking to expand our tutoring team to deliver catch up tuition to improve educational outcomes locally.

The role would involve delivering tutoring to a small group of students on a 1 to 3 ratio. We expect for there to be opportunities to tutor both primary and secondary schools on a range of subjects (English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Languages being the main ones)

This is a part time role, with sessions likely to take place during school hours. It is also likely you will be asked to take on 2-5 hours of lessons per day, for up to three days per week.

Depending on each school’s preference, the tutoring may occur either in-person or virtually. Hence, we would prefer candidates to be residents in Bristol, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire.

Start date is expected to be ASAP in Jan 2022 for the right candidates

Job specification

• Experience in tutoring, mentoring or coaching others on a one to one or small group basis
• Expertise in one of the main academic subjects at primary and secondary level (Maths, English, Science etc)
• Communicate well and able to confront and address issues and problems which may arise
• Provide support, advice and mentoring to youngsters, not just in the academic subject itself, but also in study skills, time management and exam technique
• Complete timesheets and reports for your pupils and submit them on time on a weekly basis

Job requirements

• Have access to your own IT (e.g. laptop)
• Enhanced DBS check. If you do not possess one, you can apply for one through us
• Must be familiar with UK education system and curriculum (GCSE and A-levels)
• At a minimum, you must be A-level qualified and preferably undertaking or have completed an undergraduate degree course. A teaching qualification is also desirable, but NOT essential
• Good timekeeping habits, communication skills (written and spoken) and team working with our central team
