Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Software Developer to play an integral role in the successful deployment of Nexsan’s Unified Storage system, the Unity which combines high performance, high capacity and innovative FASTier caching technology to provide scalable performance for mixed application workloads and virtualized environments.

In this role, the candidates must have a strong technical background with the ability work with various system components and storage concepts. They will join an exceptional team responsible for analyzing and resolving product support escalations and working with development, QA and support representatives.

The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, a creative problem solver who likes to take things apart and has the technical ability to put them back together; be motivated by the discover of a complicated bug. The candidate will also need to be a fast learner; proactive and self-directed; easy-going, team player; customer oriented. Note this is a development role with the expectation of developing code for release or test.

Essential Responsibilities:
Work closely with technical support representatives on customer escalations to R&D. This often includes reproducing and fixing bugs reported by customers.

Software development and improvements in field support capabilities such as better diagnostic tools.

Enhance code, perform bug fixes to improve product reliability.

Track escalation metrics and help to improve overall quality of the product

Job Specifications/Requirements:
2 – 5 years’ experience

In-depth Java, C, C++ and scripting programming skills

Strong debugging skills

Familiarity with Unix, Windows and Mac

Understanding of Unified, NAS or SAN storage concepts

Understanding of networking protocols and technologies

Excellent problem solving skills are a must

Excellent communication skills with a customer centric sensitivity

Must be very effective working under a high degree of multi-tasking

Desired Skills:
Data Storage Experience

Experience with NFS, SMB, CIFS protocols

Product Development

Automated testing

Experience with Solaris
