About the role

Reporting to our Production Supervisor, you’ll have the opportunity to lead our finishing process, working with the production team by managing panel finishing. We’ll lean on you to safely and efficiently lead panel finishing in our Squamish plant, working with the plant leadership team while not finishing to develop and improve finishing processes. You will operate tools and machinery as needed, level top surfaces according to specifications, apply hardening and sealing components on panels, finish panels as desired, among other duties. Day to day, you’ll collaborate with our Plant Director, plant production team, and our Manufacturing team to lead finishing procedures, and continuously improve and adapt those procedures as needed.

What you’ll need:

• Experience as a Finisher, Production Team Member, or Finishing Team Lead in a manufacturing or construction setting, optimally a precast concrete plant
• Familiarity with densifiers/sealers, experience installing floor levelling materials, knowledge of surface prep for toppings and coatings
• Hands on attitude, capability and willingness to work at different tasks alongside team members you are leading
• The ability to work effectively as a team member, to ensure productivity and efficiency
• Demonstrated organizational, prioritization, and time management skills; the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
• High-level of personal accountability, ability to check your own work and remedy mistakes by proactively working through them
• Ability to take initiative and follow through for successful completion
• Ability to identify problems, visualize ideal solutions, and implement those solutions in the most meaningful way
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Respect for all organizational and standard operating procedures
• Respect and adherence to all Health and Safety Guidelines
• Capacity to develop and maintain good working relationships with all levels of the organization
• Have a high attention to detail
• Desire to seek out more optimal methods of manufacturing, and the will to continuously evolve and shift from outdated ways to new, better ways
• Desire to take training in areas identified as necessary for your position
• Flexibility to share in the workload in other areas of the plant
• Ability to lift 50lbs
