Newtek Business Services Corp Hiring for Insurance Customer Service Representative – Life & Health at Remote Full Time

Opportunities will be generated from a variety of referral sources including referrals from existing Newtek clients. Primary responsibility is to qualify opportunities and work the lead through the underwriting process.

Position Purpose: To service and renew gold and platinum level clients in our Employee Benefits book of business. This position also includes the responsibility to up-sell additional lines of coverage and cross-sell other Newtek services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Quote online and with General Agents through various carriers
• Fully complete and gather information from clients for health insurance applications for obtaining quotes and submitting to underwriting.
• Prepare Open Enrollment materials and conduct open enrollment meetings for groups
• Issue medical cards and open enrollment materials to clients
• Renew, remarket and offer other lines of coverage for client.
• Responsible for managing enrollment and eligibility (enrolling and terminating employees)
• Return phone calls in a timely manner as well as respond to clients emails.
• Fully document client’s files properly by noting accounts with all phone conversations and or emails and attaching pertinent file documents.
• Maintain contact with the client base throughout the year per frequency set by management, including reaching out to the client 90 days prior to renewal.
• Check coverage specifics such as HRA’s, FSA’s and ancillary coverages.
• Accurate and timely updating of client and policy information within Benefit Point and Newtracker as appropriate
• Work renewals off of Renewal Calendar
• Fully manage client relationships which includes, but is not limited to:
• Getting familiarized with client’s files.
• Getting quote thru incumbent carrier and remarketing account.
• Delivering quotes
• Gather all appropriate paperwork to enroll the group
• Communicate coverage terms & conditions of quotes/polices to client.
• Ability/experience to work with underwriters to gain knowledge of proper coverage.
• Cross Selling other Newtek services to a new or existing customer with the belief that you are creating a partnership and serving the customer by introducing them to additional products or services that assist the business owner in increasing sales, reducing expenses and minimizing risk.
• When an opportunity is uncovered the customer should be live transferred to the appropriate Business Service Specialist (BSS) or a referral should be put into Newtraker
• Stay up to date on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, and how it applies to our clients.
• Review payroll and Property and Casualty coverages with clients at renewal.
• Understand all policy filings (Medicare, ACA, and ERISA), effectively be able to communicate these to clients, and be able to manage timely filings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Life, Accident and Health Insurance License
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and act with a sense of urgency
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Excellent time management, planning and organization skills
• Contribute individually with BenefitPoint and Newtracker
• The ability to read policies and break down coverage
• A sense of urgency and ownership when dealing with clients and prospects of Newtek

Performance Measures / Accountabilities:

• Each CSR will be measured according to their personal account retention in units and dollars, and the amount of revenue they obtain from upselling clients on additional coverages.
• BenefitPoint is to be updated and utilized in accordance with the parameters set by management
• Each CSR will be measured against their personal cross sell goal on a monthly, semi-annual and annual basis
• Policies should not go un-renewed without a full explanation
• All e-mail and voicemail should be returned by the end of the professional business day
• Cross Selling of Newtek products and services on all customer contacts
