NewOrbit Hiring for Finance Manager Job at Oxford, England Full Time

NewOrbit is looking for a Finance Manager to handle almost all aspects of our financial processes, from accounts payable and receivable to the preparation of management accounts.
Our Finance Manager will be integral to our business, working with our senior management team to develop and implement financial strategies to help us grow.
The role is a part-time, contracting services opportunity, and we expect the role to require approximately 4-5 days of your time per month. Our preference would be to have someone that could work on a regular basis and someone that would be able to come to our Chalgrove office on occasion.

NewOrbit is a technology company specialising in developing software and providing hosting and support services for a range of clients. We have approximately 40 staff spread across the UK and our wholly owned Polish subsidiary. Our turnover in 2021 was circa £3.5 million and we are set for considerable growth.
We have three main business lines:

• Product Partnering: Development of bespoke software for customers. We establish long-term relationships and for each customer, there are services (our time to deliver new functionality/consultancy) and subscriptions (ongoing hosting, support and maintenance).
• Azure Services: Reseller of Microsoft Azure Cloud Services and provider of Cloud Consultancy to other development companies.
• Own Products: Provider of our own software products that we take to the market directly, with our current main offering being Payflow; a process management tool for payroll bureaux.

Responsibilities

• Process and pay inbound invoices (approximately 20-30 per month).
• Create and send outbound invoices (approximately 30-40 per month).
• Process credit card expenses (approximately 20 per month).
• Bank reconciliation.
• VAT filing.
• Prepare cash flow.
• Limited credit control (it’s mostly raising it to the commercial contact to chase).
• Manage (limited) deferrals and accruals; identifying, creating journal entries and accounting for in the management accounts.
• Work with our outsourced payroll bureau (we are intending to outsource our payroll, but it is currently managed in-house).
• Prepare management accounts for consumption by the management team and the board. Includes combining the P&L from our Polish subsidiary and the P&L from the UK company into consolidated Group management accounts.
• Attend quarterly meetings with the senior managers to share your view on how we are doing and areas for improvement from a finance perspective.
• Identify and raise financial risks and concerns.

Person Requirements

• Extensive experience providing financial advice and management
• Detail orientated and analytical thinker

Other Information
NewOrbit is a technology company, and we make a point of using cloud-hosted software for everything we can. You should therefore be confident in using software to keep things as efficient as possible.
The primary tools you will be using include:

• FreeAgent – our finance system.
• Harvest – a time and expense tracking system.
• Microsoft 365 – in particular, we use a fairly complex set of Excel spreadsheets to track clients’ hosting and support spend.
