ABOUT THE JOB
This is a fantastic opportunity to shape effective, inclusive education for children and young people in Newham, creating a lasting legacy of sustained success.
Reporting to the Director of Education, Inclusion and Achievement , the Head of Education Outcomes and Partnerships will provide effective and ambitious senior leadership to ensure high quality, inclusive, education experiences for our children and young people. The role acts a senior officer for our education providers, ensuring that the requirements of the Education Inspection Framework (OFSTED) are met whilst overseeing legal duties and responsibilities and the monitoring of statutory functions, such as those required by the DfE.
The role will lead the implementation of strategies across an already rich and diverse range of exceptional education partnerships; promoting and managing relationships between the council and its education settings; namely schools, early years and education boards amongst other stakeholders (please refer to the job description for a comprehensive list). The Head of Education Outcomes and Partnerships will specifically address, through education strategy and council policies and the implementation of these, any evidence of disproportionality found in the educational participation and achievement of children and young people in Newham, as reflected in their ‘lived experiences’ in education settings and their local communities.
The role will require leadership of curriculum, assessment, moderation and intervention/inclusion support services to schools and to develop these traded services, as well as statutory functions, duties and responsibilities for the administration of annual educational testing arrangements in schools. Additionally, the Head of Education Outcomes and Partnerships will lead by example in demonstrating the significant and importance of curriculum enrichment and cultural capital to support children and young people’s development; championing music, sport and outdoor learning.

You like to shape services to ensure that education is inclusive and effective, never losing sight of our children and young people. In line with your approach to work, you will have an excellent track record of delivering successful education outcomes for young people within a diverse urban community, with acute awareness of legislation, regulatory frameworks, inspection frameworks, performance, and finance.
You value professional development for yourself and for those working under you, and you have relevant qualifications and significant educational management experience with a track record of success in similar or related roles. Holding a UK recognised teaching qualification is desirable.
