About New Mexico Military Institute: NMMI is a state-supported, co-educational college preparatory high school and junior college, complete with Junior and Senior ROTC programs. With a Corps of Cadets numbering up to 1000 young men and women, NMMI provides an accredited college preparatory curriculum on the high school level and a transfer junior college, operating within a conductive military environment.
Position: NMMI seeks a JROTC Army Instructor (AI). The AI is directly responsible to the JROTC Senior Army Instructor (SAI) of the NMMI JROTC Department for the accomplishment of his/her duties. The AI provides subject matter expertise/support to the SAI and the NMMI Commandant of Cadets for activities such as troop military advisor, squad leader/platoon sergeant school, leadership camp, drill and ceremony, inspections, and physical readiness training. This is an 11 month, exempt, full time position. Job Description is available upon request. Pay range for this position is $45,000 to $70,000 based on education and experience.
Responsibilities:
· Must meet existing Instructor requirements as described in Cadet Command Regulation 145-2
· Responsible for teaching the JROTC curriculum and for outdoor instruction in leadership and citizenship
Essential Skills:
· Ability to demonstrate professional ethics and work standards
· Skill in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with cadets, the Commandant, the SAI, parents, faculty and staff
· Skill in interacting with diverse populations and a wide variety of age groups
Minimum Qualifications:
· Retired non-commissioned officer (NCO, E-6 or higher) or Warrant Officers
· Applications must be certified by the U.S. Army Cadet Command to instruct in the JROTC program (https://www.usarmyjrotc.com/)
Preferred Qualifications:
· Associate’s degree from an accredited institution with a major in education or a related field or obtain an Associate’s degree within 5 years of employment
