It’s a busy and exciting time for the brand and we’re on the hunt for a Junior Software Engineer to join our growing Digital Engineering team.

The Role:
The role will sit in our Technology function in our Engineering Team whose primary focus is to develop the digital and cloud capability for New Look. The team is brand new and currently in the process of being set-up. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to be part of something right at the start and be involved in creating an innovative team culture. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong work ethic. As a Software Engineer you will be a key player in the Engineering team.
Skill Requirements:
Experience in the following technologies: React/Next.js, Typescript, GraphQL, Node/NestJS
Preferable experience in working with development lifecycle and source control systems, preferably git, Gitlab and Jira.
Preferable experience in Agile with JIRA and team collaboration.
Preferable prior experience in security minded designs, implementations and integrations.
Preferable prior experience with the following (cloud) platforms and services: Azure (IaaS/PaaS/Serverless, e.g., Service Bus, Web Apps, Functions, AKS, etc.), Docker, Kubernetes
Preferable experience with automated testing including integration tests.
The Role:
Independently executes tasks with guidance from senior engineers
Supports design and implementation of software projects with guidance from senior engineers
Works with Scrum Team to leverage tools and processes to iteratively plan and develop both new features and bug fixes defined as part of the project.
Tracks tasks, reports status, and works both individually and in teams to implement software solutions
Seeks and supports development of fast, clean and reliable code
Completes appropriate program and source code documentation. Supports design and code reviews.
Supports provision of 3rd level technical support as needed.
Performs unit, string, system, volume and regression testing activities per documented test strategies and plans.
Contributes to the establishment of user and model office testing environments.
Working in a growing environment that has/uses Test Driven Development, Agile, and Scrum methodologies
Camaraderie with the engineering team and other professionals in the company.
Communicate proficiently and professionally to customers and co-workers.
Proven team player with a can-do mentality.
Being dedicated and willing to follow through with individual and team commitments.
