About the Position

As the Logistics Manager for New Leaf Biofuel, you will hold a pivotal role in ensuring excellent customer service while driving major efficiency gains for our activities.

You will be responsible for overseeing all service routing and efficiency metrics, managing the operations team, and contributing to our company culture.

You will provide expert logistical analysis, planning, and advice to optimize our operations, supporting our goals of increasing collection efficiency while reducing travel time and increasing truck utilization.

As a successful candidate, you will have a proven track record in logistics management, with a strong understanding of routing and trucking operations.

You will also be an experienced leader, with the ability to motivate and manage a team to deliver exceptional results. Your knowledge of logistics software and management tools will be a significant asset, as will your ability to communicate complex logistical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Salary Range : $80,000 – $110,000, plus healthcare benefits and 401k contribution.

Key Areas of Work

• Oversee all daily operational and logistics tasks for New Leaf’s lines of business.
• Improve route efficiency by creating well-executed daily routes in CSS / Telogis that see more oil coming in from fewer visits, act as Leason between Baker and New Leaf.
• Optimize vehicle and driver utilization by meshing pay expectations, and overtime costs. Find a sweet spot for driver hours.
• With the assistance of the Fleet Manager, integrate Fleet Maintenance and planned PM downtime for vehicles into a complete logistical plan.
• Work with the Controls Engineer and Instrumentations technician to ensure level sensor data is used optimally and that level sensor investment expectations are met.
• Update account notes and comments to optimize on-site operations and reduce response times.
• Run route s daily to make frequency adjustments.
• Lead route dynamics data capture initiative, (travel, set-up, pumping, pack up, depart) for detailed service efficiency analysis.
• Develop an accurate cost to serve model with the operations team as the basis for account margin estimates.
• Review active customer data regularly, identify positive and negative trends, and take action to improve customer retention.
• Handle all 2nd-tier calls and emails regarding customer concerns.
• Prepare and provide quarterly customer account s to management, offering insights into status and improvement.
• Collaborate with different teams to identify and implement efficiency improvements by reducing non-oil codes in CSS.
• Coordinate with staff to preschedule grease trap service appointments to ensure timely and convenient customer service.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date account notes and contact information for improved service efficiency.
• Develop and maintain a service cost basis for grease trap pricing using route dynamics data to support new market pricing.
• Manage the driver group, perform one-on-ones, quarterly reviews, documentation, accident incident investigation, and coaching
• Handle all workman’s comp and insurance issues and requests.
• Oversee financials, approve end-of-month numbers for accounting, and oversee staff’s efforts in ensuring Accounts Receivable are at a minimum level.
• Create content for driver’s meetings including efficiency numbers and mandatory safety topics, and run monthly driver’s meetings.
• Handle all aspects of the on-call process.
• Ensure that all staff training is performed, and maintain DOT files for all drivers.
• Create a driver incentive program to highlight and reward efficiency.
• Perform site surveys as needed for UCO and Trap.
• Maintain tool inventory for drivers.
• Initiate random drug screens, and communicate with Morneau Shappell and Concentra.
• Order equipment for operations, and manage vendor relationships.

Requirements : Qualifications

Qualifications

Must-Have :

1. Strong knowledge of logistics and fleet management.

2. Experience in procurement, forecasting, and customer service.

3. Demonstrated experience in managing teams of 15+ employees.

4. Sound financial acumen and P&L management.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Proficiency in QuickBooks.

7. Proficiency in Salesforce, and CRM.

8. Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks and projects.

9. Knowledge of MS Office and Google Suite, with a strong emphasis on spreadsheets, formulas, and pivot tables.

10. Experience working in the renewables industry is a plus.

Education / Experience : Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, minimum 5 years experience in lieu of education.

Working Conditions : This is a full-time, exempt position and s directly to the Director of Restaurant Services. The standard working hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 9 : 00 am 5 : 30 pm, although the employee must be available at all times to resolve any logistics issues.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
• Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
• The employee may be exposed to loud environments and strong smells outside the office.
