Full and Part-time Youth Mentors (Houseparents) needed for New Leaf Academy, a therapeutic boarding school primarily for females, transgender females and non-binary students ages 10-15. Typical diagnoses of students may include: Anxiety, depression, Mood Disorders, ADHD, trauma, grief and loss and attachment issues and students typically have difficulty regulating emotions and containing their behaviors. New Leaf Academy has been a national leader in the therapeutic boarding school field for over 20 years and remains committed to offering the best in clinical, academic and extra-curricular programs in a small, nurturing residential and school setting. We are family-owned and independent.

Our year-round program offers mental health treatment through individual, recreational, group and family therapy. We support the growth of our youth not only through therapy but also through a challenging academic setting, structured residential environment and a variety of extra-curricular activities and experiential trips.

Positions are year-round (including holidays) and starts at $16/hour for daytime position and $16.25/hour for overnight position. Opportunity for hourly wage increase of $0.75/hour with development and training within first year of employment.

Offering a $750 bonus after 6 months of employment in overnight position.

Responsibilities include:

• Overall supervision, safety, care and guidance of the students in the home.
• Guide students through their daily living routines while helping them to develop self-care skills.
• Build appropriate relationships with youth while maintaining healthy boundaries and implementing program rules and policies.
• Participate in activities with students such as PE, arts & crafts, games, outdoor activities, etc
• Participate in weekly All Staff and Treatment team meetings
• Light cleaning and office duties during overnight shifts

Qualifications:

• Ability to hold consistent boundaries with youth
• Experience working with youth or working overnight shifts preferred
• Excellent communication skills and ability to be a team player are required.
• Computer and organizational skills
• 21 years of age or older

• Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Ability to pass background check.
• First Aid/CPR certified (or willingness to certify)
• Food handlers card and willingness to cook are a bonus!

Schedule:

Position 1 (full-time):

*all overnight shifts are awake overnights

Sundays 9:30pm – Mondays 8:45am

Mondays 9:30pm – Tuesdays 8:45am

Tuesdays 9:30pm – Wednesdays 8:45am

Wednesdays 11am-1pm (weekly staff meetings)

Hours/week: 35.75

Position 2 (full-time):

Sundays 10am-9pm

Mondays 12:30-10pm

Tuesdays 12:30-10pm

Wednesdays 11am-4pm

Hours/week: 35

Position 3 (full-time):

Sundays 8am-4pm

Wednesdays 11am-1pm (weekly staff meetings)

Wednesdays 9:30pm – Thursdays 8:45am (overnight)

Saturdays 10am-10pm

Hours/week: 33.25

*opportunities to pick up extra shifts on a regular basis

Position 4 (part-time):

Mondays – Fridays 5:45-8:45am

Wednesdays include 9:45am-12pm (weekly staff meetings)

Hours/week: 17.25
