New Avenues Hiring for Assistant Accountant – Television (Part Time) Job at London, England Full Time

This is a newly created role within a TV production company that is well known for producing hard hitting drama’s and scripted content. This is an established and successful business that is currently going through a period of positive change and growth.

Reporting into the Finance Director this position has been created to provide support with the day to day finances and will have involvement with both the company & production accounts allowing for a varied and interesting role. The role is likely to expand once you have settled.

Working within a small and close knit team the role requires an individual with previous accounting skills who wants to work within a creative environment. Previous experience of working within a TV or Media company is desirable but a genuine interest in the industry is needed!

You will need to be a friendly and approachable person who enjoys interacting with others and has a natural confidence when engaging with people.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual who wants to work on a part time basis – flexibility on hours will be considered and can be full days or spread across the week. Hybrid working in currently in place.

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Assist with the month end process and close down procedure
• Assist with any production accounting matters as required, including conducting production audits
• Assist with preparing VAT reports
• Maintenance & reconciliation of the purchase ledger
• Manage supplier relationships, dealing with, and resolving, any queries
• Process and manage the credit card accounts
• Responsible for the company and production petty cash/floats
• Maintain and reconcile the sales ledger. Including issuing of any invoices
• Chase debtors as required
• Monitor and analyse spend on any development projects

The ideal candidate:

• Previous accounts experience, ideally 12months+ with a good knowledge of debits & credits
• Experience gained within a TV or media company highly desirable
• Exception communication & interpersonal skills
• Studying early stages of an accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/AAT) is desirable
• Good Excel skills
• Highly motivated, ‘can-do’ attitude and organised
• Logical, good attention to detail and able to take direction yet think on your feet
• Great team player!

Job Types: Permanent, Part-time

Salary: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
