Position Summary

We are looking for a Corporate Quality Manager based at our North York office reporting into the Director of Quality Management. This role will be responsible for leading innovation and renovation projects for the following categories: Frozen Meals, Confectionery, Beverage, Coffee, Waters, Nestlé Professional, Nestlé Nutrition and Nestlé Health Science. The successful incumbent will be responsible for maintaining a compliant Canadian Quality Management System and Idea to Launch process, while providing QA expertise in the Canadian Market.

A day in the life of a Corporate Quality Manager

Ensure Consistency:

• Supports the Idea to Launch process for the development, implementation, and management of activities for all Quality Assurance programs related to product development projects (innovation and renovation).
• Collaborate with Operations to drive improvements in the manufacturing of products that consistently delivers consumer satisfaction.
• Lead the initiatives of stakeholders to remove obstacles and ensure smooth implementation of projects.
• Manages and co-ordinate the training program for new products and new processes in conjunction with key stakeholders (e.g. TAG, Businesses, Co-man, Co-pack Factories, NQAC, PTC, etc.)

Assure Food Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to all Company Quality principles and policies as well as local laws and regulations during the development of new products/processes to ensure Food safety, Quality and Compliance for successful launches.
• Ensure compliance to food safety and external requirements (national and international).
• Ensure food safety and compliance of the business process that she/he is supporting.
• Patterning and supporting new Contract Manufacturing site approval process.
• Collaborate with other function to enforce and maintain the Management System.

Strive for Zero Defect & No Waste:

• Conduct quality failures analysis and initiatives to eliminate the defects.
• Lead resolution of quality management issues that arise during the Innovation & Renovation process. This includes reporting corrective action plans, technical summaries, held inventory disposition, etc.
• Lead the evaluation and resolution of customer / consumer product quality issues and defects/complaints for all renovation and innovation projects at post launch.
• Prepare report of consumer complaints reduction to the businesses.
• Promote and support cross-fertilization of Nestlé Continuous Excellence while delivering best practices, knowledge, standards and improvements.

What will make you successful

• Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Nutrition or related field (Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, etc.)
• 7-10 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance role preferably within the food or related industry
• Experience with Canada’s Food & Drug Regulations, Guide to Food Labelling and Advertising, SFCR, product hygiene manuals.
• Experience with Processed Products Regulations, Consumer Packaging & Labelling Act, Natural Health Products Regulations and related acts, regulations, policies and guidelines are required.
• Factory Quality Management experience required.
• Knowledge and experience of aseptic thermal processing is considered an asset.
• ISO/FSSC 22000 certification by an industry recognized body is an asset.
• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Exceptional time management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Good analytical skills, proactive in problem solving and effective decision making.
• Proven ability to manage change and implement process improvements.
