Duties:
Month-End Close: Run the Month-end close calendar, manage the US corporate general ledger and produce finished balance sheet folder and monthly reporting package. Set and maintain close calendar and meets deadlines of various financial reporting requirements.
Payroll: Ownership of multi-state payrolls for all categories of employees, which includes ensuring timeliness, accuracy, completeness, and proper cut-off for each payroll cycle as well as compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations.
Accounts Payable: Supervise A/P accountant and reviews weekly payment runs that are processed through Tipalti, W9 records, vendor aging, bank transfers, foreign currency transactions, etc..
Tax: Assist Controller by working with Company Tax advisors to complete annual and periodic tax filings.
Consolidation: Interact with the international aspects of the business, working with the EMEA Controller/Accounting team to record and co-manage the intercompany transactions and balances between entities.
Audit: Assists Controller in managing annual audit for the US side of the business and works closely with external auditors to bring global audit to close.
Sales Operations: Assists Controller with contract review and interacts closely with sales operations and legal teams and on closing sales contracts and professional services (PS) events. May need to assist sales teams with prospective customer RFQ’s and on-boarding documentation.
Administration: Provides support to VP of Finance, Controller and Office Manager and general company to manage office, vendor contracts, suppliers, telecom and broadband providers, IT suppliers, etc.

Duties:
Month-End Close: Run the Month-end close calendar, manage the US corporate general ledger and produce finished balance sheet folder and monthly reporting package. Set and maintain close calendar and meets deadlines of various financial reporting requirements.
Perform Balance Sheet and P&L fluctuation analysis and monthly expense variance analysis.
Review all monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations and ensures accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies.
Work with Controller on setting up finance systems for existing and new lines of business to add efficiency and support growth of business and new lines of business.
Payroll: Ownership of multi-state payrolls for all categories of employees, which includes ensuring timeliness, accuracy, completeness, and proper cut-off for each payroll cycle as well as compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations.
Understand and interact with payroll processing system (Paylocity) for payroll and benefits.
Act as an internal subject-matter expert for payroll-related projects, topics, and tasks, including but not limited to improvements to internal policies and procedures to ensure scalability;
Close collaboration with the HR function on parts of the employee onboarding and offboarding processes that impact payroll; and comp/benefits/tax issues.
Assist in new hire setup, handle tax form processing, benefits deductions setup, terminations, garnishments, etc.
Ensure that we are properly set-up with state registrations on an as needed basis. With a thriving team expanding into a hybrid working world, you’ll ensure we maintain compliance with state and local tax jurisdictions- monitoring state, provincial, and local registrations for payroll taxes, local health and state unemployment insurance, workers compensation, etc.
Assist Controller in review, accrual and payment of quarterly sales commissions and MBO bonuses and recording of ASC 340 commissions.

Banking/Cash Management: Review monthly bank reconciliations, manage cash balances, interact with Silicon Valley Bank to set up new features as needed.
Tax: Assist Controller by working with Company Tax advisors to complete annual and periodic tax filings.

Other Projects as needed (which there will be many)
Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, Masters/MBA a plus. CPA a plus.
- Minimum 10 years prior accounting experience in Venture-backed enterprise software and/or SaaS company, including 3+ years of experience in A/P operations, 2+ years of experience in payroll operations. Prior Audit experience is helpful, but hands on operating experience a must.
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Experience with Accounting month-end close process and GL software, including recording journal entries, knowledge of how payroll transactions affect the GL, and ability to reconcile Payroll accounts.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and payroll systems such as Paylocity, ADP, Workday.
- Ability to think strategically and act operationally; ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies.
- Strong leadership skills, team player, flexible, and ability to resolve conflicts.
- Experience with Sage Intacct, Paylocity, Tipalti a plus.
