The Integrated Education Specialist functions as an analyst, facilitator, leader, consultant, and/or coordinator of Nemours interprofessional educational (IPE) interventions as required. This position collaborates with a broad range of educational stakeholders at the clinical, operational, and executive levels. This position also serves as a resource, leader and expert on interprofessional education.
Essential functions include –
Align IPE interventions with institutional quality improvement efforts and collaborate to ensure lasting success of integrated, interprofessional education. Coordinate, market, facilitate and evaluate the educational interventions that are needed for an integrated target audience of clinicians (e.g. physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers, and pharmacists). Plan and execute educational interventions in collaboration with the program director/planning committee. Develop timeline and ensure deadlines for deliverables are met. 2. Consult with stakeholders, departments and institutional leadership to develop interprofessional education using appropriate adult learning principles and Nemours resources. 3. Manage and participate in the implementation of the processes and timelines associated with Joint Accreditation application and recognition. 4. Direct the continued implementation of accreditation criteria including updating reporting tools (e.g. learning management system, outcomes system) and overseeing deployment of these tools and ensuring accurate and timely accreditation file maintenance. 5. Identify risks or opportunities that could impact the success of Joint Accreditation processes and systems, proactively notifying the team and escalating issues when appropriate. 6. Identify, communicate and follow up on opportunities for evaluation and improvement in all aspects of internal processes, including governance, operations and service delivery related to interprofessional programming. 7. Conduct outcomes analysis that complies with all accrediting bodies as well as measures the highest level of educational outcomes possible within available resources. Maintain accreditation records of programs accredited by national or state accrediting bodies. 8. Plan and execute educational interventions in collaboration with the program director/planning committee. Develop timeline and ensure deadlines for deliverables are met. Report these outcomes data to to Chief/Director of Quality and Safety, Operational Vice President for Education, Programs Director and other IPE stakeholders. 9. Communicate regularly, in writing and orally, with integrated stakeholders and leaders in quality and safety and education to assure coordination of information necessary for a successful integrated educational program. 10. Baccalaureate degree in a health related area and/or training or experience in healthcare leadership is required. Masters degree in public health or healthcare administration is strongly preferred. Hospital experience preferred.
