Neighborhood Charter Schools Hiring for Managing Director of Operations at New York, NY Full Time

NCS seeks an experienced, highly organized, detail-oriented, energetic, operational leader who has experience in the NYC charter education world and is committed to urban education. We are looking for someone with prior leadership experience and someone who is excited by the challenge of working for a growing organization that has plans to replicate. This role reports to the Executive Director.

In the 2022-2023 school year, NCS will serve nearly 1000 students across three locations in Harlem and the Bronx. The Managing Director of Operations will be responsible for the day-to-day operations at all campuses. They will oversee the operational policies and procedures of the school, including recruitment, admissions, technology, transportation, facilities, etc. The successful candidate will be high-energy, hands-on and willing to do whatever it takes. They will work very closely with the Executive Director and be the leader of the operations for the network.

Responsibilities

Serve as the operational leader for the network, supporting school-based Director of Operations and operations teams

Spearhead and supervise student recruitment and enrollment strategy and systems

Own all compliance for the network and schools, including annual reports and charter renewal project management

Coach and develop the operations teams, including leading their evaluation processes in conjunction with other school leaders

Direct and manage all operations hiring across the network

Build capacity in, codify, and ensure effective implementation of all school-wide systems and shared systems across the network (SIS, attendance, transportation, food service, state testing, medical, safety, data, etc.)

Create and lead the summer readiness vision for operations, ensuring successful launch into the school year

Own and manage all Covid19-related policies, protocols and system implementation

Manage the Director of Technology and the Director of Facilities at the network

Support the logistical components of any network or school-wide events, as needed

Other duties as deemed necessary

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, masters degree preferred

3-5 years+ experience as a Director of Operations of a NY charter school and/or network required

Strong leadership skills; high level of emotional intelligence

Deep commitment to education and academic achievement

Impeccable organization skills and ability to prioritize and manage time effectively while working in a fast-paced environment

Highly detail-oriented

Creative problem-solver and systems thinker

Ability to work productively with all stakeholders
