Operating as the CFO’s trusted advisor you will be the leader of the core Finance team and work with many people across the Group globally. The primary responsibility for this function will be to run External Statutory Reporting, Audit, Tax Assurance and Compliance aspects of Nearmap.

Secondly, you will be the custodian of all Financial Controllership and Operations in Australia and North America (pending other Global offices). The role also encompasses an element of Finance Strategy and would work closely with the Nearmap Director of Strategy on the future orientation of the business.

You will lead a high performing team responsible for data driven commercial and operational analysis and reporting, and end to end financial management. This is a key role in the finance function as you will play an active role within the financial leadership team, helping the CFO to set the strategic agenda for the Finance function.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

• Oversee month-end close, payroll, transactional accounting processes
• Ensure the Corporations Act and ASX reporting obligations are met
• Oversee and own the annual and half yearly statutory reporting and audit processes
• Define the cash strategy/requirements
• Maintain treasury and hedging policies of the Group
• Involvement in M&A/capital raising activities as required
• Tax planning to ensure optimal tax positions achieved
• Oversee completion of FBT, BAS, PAYG and State and Territory tax lodgements
• Coordinate preparation of R&D Tax Incentive and Income Tax Returns for the Group (AU and US tax jurisdictions)
• Co-chair the Global Risk Assessment Group, and ensure ongoing identification and monitoring of business risks, quality of the risk assessment process, and manage the risk reporting process to the audit and risk committee.
• Oversee and own the financial and tax aspects of the various equity schemes across the business, including the relationship with the Plan Manager.

Experience in a similar role ideally for an ASX listed company, and a foundation gained in a Big 4 Accounting firm is preferred. Strong leadership skills with the ability to get the best out of people and an understanding of best practice, compliance and the above listed role requirements will ensure you deliver in this role.

It is assumed you possess excellent written, visual and verbal presentation skills. Strong emotional intelligence, commercial acumen, attention to detail, positive self-starter with a results-driven attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
