NCH Canada Inc. Hiring for Production & QC Technician at Brampton, ON Full Time

NCH Canada Inc. is a leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial maintenance products which include lubricants, solvents and degreasers, and water treatment chemicals. We are currently looking for a Production & QC Technician to join our team. The individual will be working with our operations team to ensure that quality standards and procedures are met. They will be responsible for performing QC and PM related chemical testing as part of our batch production process, production planning, coordination of bulk tank deliveries, and will act as our facility Quality Management Representative.

Job Duties

• Perform batch testing according to QC parameters; document and record findings and results; troubleshoot and recommend batch adjustments when required;
• Ensure samples, equipment, and any required chemicals are handled properly to avoid contamination;
• Maintain, manage, and coordinate disposal of batch retains, test reagents, product, etc.;
• Perform system release of batches; calibrate QC instruments; and prepare solutions;
• Review product labels, SDS, and raw material documentation prior to their release into inventory as per procedures for incoming inspection and control of non-conforming product;
• Troubleshoot and manage QC issues using defined processes;
• Monitor, analyze, and plan weekly production schedules;
• Management of various processes including expired inventory, SDS, receiving process of bulk tanker delivery
• Assist with Customer Questionnaires and Third Party Contractor Validation
• Act as a Quality Management System (QMS) Representative for ISO 9001, which will include fulfilling performance standards, procedures, document review and audit controls in order to meet business requirements;
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of Company operations;
• Act as a member of our JHSC;
• Support other operational departments where needed and any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• University degree or College diploma in Quality Control, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• 1+ year QC experience (in chemical manufacturing preferred), including practical experience with product testing.
• Demonstrated understanding of QC laboratory theories and principles including chemical handling and cross contamination procedures;
• Able to evaluate production data (i.e. variances, efficiencies)
• Understanding of production flow principles and manufacturing process
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and Quality Management Systems
• Able to develop, review, and maintain metrics and quality audits
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with internal departments and external parties
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment.
• Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
• Is detail-oriented, has mathematical reasoning, able to prioritize assigned duties, and highly adaptable
• High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning, self-directed, capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Computer literate, including effective working skills of Microsoft Windows suite and e-mail.
