Overview

NCC Education is looking for a Product Development Manager who will be responsible for the development, review, maintenance and support for NCC Education’s qualifications and teaching and learning programmes.

Job Purpose

To develop, maintain and deliver qualifications and programmes offered by NCC Education, in line with regulatory requirements; to lead on specific qualifications and programmes, ensuring the effective operation of assessment cycles to NCC Education and Ofqual schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a portfolio of products
• Appoint, train and support contractors/developers
• Commission assessment artefacts (assessment and marking scheme) and sign off
• Manage and give briefings on trials and pilots, as required
• Develop Learning Outcomes, Assessment Criteria and Grade Descriptors
• Present qualification results as a Servicing Officer at relevant Assessment Boards
• Review reports produced by plagiarism detection systems and provide guidance to markers, moderators and Head of Quality and Compliance, as necessary
• Liaise with contracted markers and moderators
• Liaise with Academic delivery team during marking cycle, collate reports, service and attend Assessments Boards to determine pass boundaries
• Conduct performance reviews of examiners, moderators, markers
• Develop new products in line with the market driven product development process
• Monitor income and expenditure (in liaison with sales/finance)
• Provide data/statistics for product KPIs
• Provide data/statistics for Head of Product report to Qualifications and Academic Delivery Management Team (monthly)
• Run qualification maintenance reviews as per schedule
• Run Teaching and Learning materials maintenance reviews as per schedule
• Develop content for INSET and work with ADMs to deliver INSET to the partner centres
• Assist with employer links to secure employers’ input into developing qualifications and/or giving recognition to the qualifications
• Represent the department as a business user on projects
• Review and agree exemptions from other Awarding Organisations against NCC Education’s products
• Supervise and develop direct reports in accordance with HR Policies and procedures
• Uphold and model high standards of performance and contribute to the development of a high performing team
• Maintain departmental budget as required, in conjunction with Head of Product
• Improve and maintain processes within both the Product Development department and the Qualifications and Academic Delivery Division
• Develop relationships with others whose work is impacted by/requires a service from the role
• You will be required to act as departmental lead on any number of the above, as directed by the Head of Product

• Knowledge of UK Higher Education and its quality requirements [essential]
• At least 3 years’ experience in the development of qualifications and assessments [desirable]
• Experience of working within a regulatory environment [essential]
• Business and/or Computing subjects teaching experience [desirable]
