The Role and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Production Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of the processing facility. You will lead the processing team to process all crops and oils efficiently and cost-effectively, while maintaining the highest level of quality. You will liaise with other departments to develop and maintain the production schedule based on customer needs and demands, while ensuring the appropriate inventory levels of raw material, crude oils, and finished oils are maintained.
This role is a combination of being on the plant floor, working with and mentoring your processing team, as well as working in your office planning and strategizing.
Additional responsibilities will include:
Oversee shipping and receiving
Coordinate rail and ocean freight shipments of raw material (seed)
Track, monitor, and report on performance and KPI’s
Provide leadership and direction to processing team, including coaching, mentoring, and training
Uphold a high degree of customer service and satisfaction by maintaining product quality, practicing highest levels of GMP’s, and conforming to all food safety programs, certifications, and SOPs
Continuous improvement
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will have previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, be selfmotivated, organized, be able to multi-task and prioritize, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. We are a relatively small team who work very closely together and among departments. Being a team player and an excellent communicator is essential.
Your qualifications include:
3-5 years’ management or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Mechanical skills and aptitude
Post-secondary education considered an asset
Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong interpersonal, coaching, and presentation skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of ISO standards and food safety programs in a manufacturing environment
