As an Technical Specialist Lead, you will be accountable for the standard operating environment (SOE), specifically for the ATM environment. You will be responsible for the packaging, test and change process, as well as support of the same in both the development and production environments.
Using Agile methodologies you will ensure that value is delivered at pace, whilst balancing risk to ensure there is minimal impact to the operation. You will be expected to participate in post incident/change reviews, to drive continuous improvement actions and reflect on lessons learned. You will work closely with your peers and stakeholders in the delivery of the ATM lifecycle programme, as well as the development and implementation of technical change.

The role supports an operational model, based on the availability of branch staff, meaning core hours between 9:00 and 17:00 must be covered, although some flexibility will be expected.
The requirements of the role mean that we operate a hybrid-working model, where office visits to Nationwide House in Swindon will be required to carry out significant elements of the role. Some work is possible to be performed from home and we have a great remote-working tools.

During our peak morning period, you’ll be responding to fallout of the previous day’s release schedule, as required. You may need to recover a small number of ATM’s that have failed, and then investigate the root-cause and remediate.
You’ll then meet with the ATM services release team to perform post implementation analysis and plan subsequent releases.
You will then process and package the latest release of ATM software from the vendor and build and execute a test plan, ensuring that scripted installation works without issue in both development and then production environments.
The biggest challenge will be keeping up with pace of change, where you’ll be expected to learn on the job and use your organisational skills to prioritise tasks accordingly.
