National Zoological Society of Wales – Welsh Mountain Zoo Hiring for Education Manager Job at Colwyn Bay, Wales Full Time

The Welsh Mountain Zoo – National Zoo of Wales is looking for an Education Manager, who will answer to the Director of Living Collections. This is a permanent full-time position. The successful candidate will be a proactive and creative individual capable of managing a multi-disciplinary department to deliver formal and informal education and an appealing learning experience to our visitors.

The successful candidate must:

· understand the importance of conservation education within the role of a modern zoological collection

· be educated to degree level in a relevant science

· hold or be prepared to undertake a post graduate teaching qualification

· be competent in the use of computers and of Microsoft Office software

· have experience developing and delivering educational content for, and the ability to interact and engage with, audiences of all ages

· be self-motivated and able to work productively within a single person department

· be a fluent Welsh speaker or prepared to undertake learning to a level of competency appropriate to the needs of the role

· have experience of small animal husbandry and handling

· undergo a full enhanced DBS check

Preferred but not essential

· experience working a zoological environment
