Seeking 2 experienced and highly capable HR Advisors (job-share) to join our small and friendly HR team.

Based at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (CWS) Head Office and largest property within the NTAQ portfolio; home to a varied collection of Australian Wildlife and exotics animals located one block back from beautiful Currumbin beach.

Our varied and interesting workplace has approx. 240 employees and operates across multiple industries within a Tourism environment. This role will provide HR functions such as recruitment, on-boarding, performance reviews and management, IR & award interpretation, policies, HR administration and projects. This is a dynamic workplace, and our organisation places a high emphasis on our people and culture.

Details about these Positions:

You will a friendly and welcoming person with a well-rounded skill set in generalist HR. Specialist experience in either Recruitment or HR Projects will also be an advantage.

These two roles will share responsibility to cover the suite of HR Advisor duties as listed below. The successful applicants will have a flexible approach to work and be accustomed to working in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and comfortable working with a degree of autonomy.

You will be an experienced and motivated HR professional who is able to deliver highly effective people engagement strategies within a Tourism environment. You will work collaboratively as part of the small HR team which holds responsibility in supporting our staff and volunteers across the state.

There is a degree of flexibility available in relation to hour of work, with a total 40 hours coverage per week required (20 hours per role) and to allow for a cross-over day each week.

Key areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to:

• Be the first point of contact for all HR inquiries for team members and managers.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of management and team members across the business, including external stakeholders.
• Capably manage the end-to-end recruitment process across the organisation.
• Perform and assist with onboarding tasks including employment contracts and inductions.
• Assist with performance management, investigations, and grievance handling.
• Support and mentor HR Coordinator with HR duties across both staffing and volunteering.
• Develop and implement HR policies and lead selected HR projects.
• Provide advice across employment relations and disciplinary matters.
• Be a company culture champion; manage the company reward and recognition program and other HR programs.
• Conduct training activities as required.

Role details:

• Start date of early October is highly desirable.
• These are part time salaried roles with ordinary working days of Monday to Friday. Occasional Saturday work may be required.
• Hours to be agreed and shared with successful candidates
• Salary dependant upon skills and experience.
• The successful candidate may be required to provide a current satisfactory police check.
• You must be comfortable to work alongside Aussie Wildlife, including birds, snakes and reptiles.

Selection Criteria:

• 3 to 5 years’ experience as a HR Advisor /Generalist in a busy HR operational role with experience in a medium-size commercial and/or not for profit enterprise.
• Be a company culture champion and role model for company values.
• Degree qualifications in Human Resource Management highly desirable.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current HR and IR legislative requirements and ability to interpret awards and relevant legislation.
• Demonstrated experience in end to end recruitment including developing strategies for engaging talent.
• Previous experience using Humanforce, MyRecruitmentPlus and Crewmojo is desirable.
• Genuine capacity to work as part of a team and also independently
• Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills, accompanied by an engaging, supportive and solutions focused attitude.
• The ability to manage workload, meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.
• Customer service focus with solid work ethic.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork skills and demonstrate high level professionalism at all times.
• Demonstrated mid-high-level capabilities in Microsoft Office suite of products and Human Resource software systems.
• High level initiative, problem solving skills and project management skills.
• Bring genuine experience in using best practice HR processes that favourably promotes the company brand in compliance with policy and legislative requirements.
• Strong understanding of privacy and confidentiality.
