National Time & Signal Hiring for Fire Alarm Designer / CAD Operator at Wixom, MI Full Time

Position primarily involves the use of 2D Computer Aided Design tools to lay out fire alarm systems based on customer drawings. Other duties include:

• Communicating with colleagues to resolve project details and ensure successful project completion.
• Continuously developing professional certifications and taking advantage of training opportunities.
• Learning relevant fire alarm building codes and staying current with the latest revisions.

Experience in AutoCAD. Most importantly, you must demonstrate technical aptitude and an eagerness to learn. The responsibilities and rewards of this position will grow over time as you gain relevant knowledge and experience. This position is entry level, we will train you to work with Fire Alarm.

Requirements:

• Aptitude with CAD software
• Strong computing skills

Pluses include:

• Basic electronics principals (V=IR, series circuits, parallel circuits)
• Previous work with HVAC, Electrical, or Fire Alarm
• Experience with the fire alarm industry
• LISP/AutoCAD programming
• Knowledge of information technology and computer networking

Experience:

• AutoCAD – 3 years preferred.
• Burst vs. Explode
• Xrefs, Blocks, Moving CAD from one file to another, Layer Control, Printing to PDF from Paper Space

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
