The National Portrait Gallery houses a unique collection of all forms of portraiture of the people who have made or are currently contributing to British history and culture; the collection is the most comprehensive of its kind in the world. With around 2 million visitors each year prior to temporary closure for the Inspiring People project and a strong national and international presence through touring exhibitions and special projects, the Gallery is one of the country’s most important and popular galleries.

We’re looking for an experienced recruitment specialist to lead on the effective day-to-day delivery of all of our recruitment activities, including providing end-to-end recruitment support for all colleagues across the Gallery. This is new role will be integral to attracting and introducing new talent to the Gallery ahead of our much anticipated reopening in 2023.
The successful candidate will have experience of managing high volumes of recruitment, operating a direct hire model of recruitment, and have up to date knowledge of best practice recruitment activities. They will be a self-starter, who can manage their workload to meet competing demands, as well has have good communication and interpersonal skills, to establish good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
