The Library is seeking to fill two Assistant Director roles (Executive Level 1) in the Finance Section, as a Management Accountant and a Financial Accountant in Corporate Branch on an ongoing basis.

These roles lead the financial activities for the National Library of Australia. The Management Accountant will manage external and internal budget planning, financial performance analysis, and reporting. The Financial Accountant will supervise a small team for day to day financial operations and manage the financial statement process including external reporting requirements.

You will provide expert advice on Commonwealth financial management frameworks and accounting/budgeting requirements. Working collaboratively with the Directors and senior leadership team of the Library, you will partner with them to meet their financial responsibilities under the PGPA Act 2013. You will lead a small team of professionals in providing advice and processing activities.

We are looking for high performing Executive Level 1 employees who demonstrate our Business and Leadership Functions, uphold the APS and Library Values, and have functional leadership experience. Adaptability, strategic thinking and leadership skills will be key to your success.

You must hold qualifications and equivalent experience in accounting or related field and a membership of a professional accounting body.

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.

A merit pool will also be established and used where possible to fill similar vacancies during the subsequent 12 months.
