National Grid Hiring for Accounts System Control Assistant Accountant Job at Warwick, West Midlands, England Full Time

Supporting the RTR financial processing for allocations, GSA’s, TSA’s. Processing month end close, system controls, rate calculations, managing and validating system interfaces. Ensuring the processing of financial entries lead to complete and accurate financial information and production of financial reporting.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure accounting entries are appropriately classified in accordance with internal policy, accounting standards, nature of expenditure or form of control. • Role model service as a key part for all processes, ensure service offering is provided in a way that is reliable, responsive and easy to deal with.• Responsible for administration of Blackline journal system for whole Group.• Supporting the Accounts System Controls Accountant in managing and processing the annual and monthly allocations and recharges, in line with regulatory guidelines.• Managing and calculating timesheeting rates and dealing with business queries, engaging proactively with stakeholders.• Supporting the monthly delivery of the close programme, managing and escalating delivery risk as appropriate to the Accounts System Controls Manager.• Supporting the management of system interfaces into the accounting system.• Supporting the Accounts System Controls Accountant in investigating and responding to queries from external auditors and internal finance/tax colleagues.• Support process improvements to ensure the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.• Continuous review and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).• Engage proactively with offshore managed provider to manage the close timetable and ensuring processes are executed in accordance with relevant SoX and business controls.• Providing support to management on system technologies that affect the teams processes

About you

What you’ll get

A competitive salary between £32,000-38,000 – dependent on capability
