About the role

Reporting to the Software Program Manager, this exciting permanent role will be responsible for defining, planning, and creating test cases as needed to meet product requirements. The role will also be accountable for implementation, execution, and management of Software V&V to cover a mix of firmware and software package for medical devices.

This is an autonomous role that requires good stakeholder management in addition to providing supervision, guidance and mentorship and training to other team members to ensure the objective of the Software V&V team is adhered to.

Priorities in this role

• Creating and implementing the test plan for the firmware & software life cycle.
• Designing and implementing the software & firmware automation system
• Writing & Reviewing firmware & software test protocols to meet the specified requirements
• Identify and maintain the appropriate tool chain for software & firmware test automation
• Understand the software and firmware features for debugging issues
• Conducting firmware, software design verification tests
• Conducting unit integration and system testing when required and reporting preliminary analysis on test failures
• Creating clear and concise test documentation as part of the Software development process and work in accordance with IEC 62304 and ISO 13485

What are we looking for?

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software, firmware, and system testing with tertiary qualifications in Software, Computer or Electronic Engineering
• Sound coding capabilities using Python
• Working experience with GIT version control, continuous integration tools (e.g. Bamboo) and task tracking tool (e.g. JIRA)
• Experience with Python and other programming languages
• Experience with user interface testing tools and frameworks such as Squish or Ranorex
• Experience and understanding of electronics and electronic test equipment
• Experience working in Medical Device company with the capability to juggle multiple priorities is desirable
