As a member of the Nanometrics team, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with all areas of the business to expand the boundaries of seismic research and explore the unknown/discover the inner workings of our planet.
About You
You have a desire to play a critical role in the assembly and production of our seismic sensors. As well as being someone with strong attention to detail and is passionate about hands-on work! You excel with written and verbal communication and are adaptable to new methods and procedures. Staying highly organized and possessing a strong ability to multitask, while dealing with multiple and changing priorities is a challenge that you enjoy!

We take great pride in producing quality products with on time delivery and continually optimize our manufacturing processes. Not to mention, we have fun with the work that we do each day!
The Role:
Assembly
Electro-mechanical assembly of products using jigs, hand and power tools
Cable harness assembly
Circuit card assembly soldering and rework
Identify, troubleshoot and resolve assembly related issues
Read and understand assembly instructions, drawings and other technical documents
Programming & Test
Programming of devices and assemblies
Functional test of final assemblies, sub-assemblies and circuit cards (digital, analog and RF) using defined test software, fixtures and equipment
Setup and run thermal testing of assemblies
Troubleshoot and debug, down to component level
Read and understand schematics, layout files, test procedures and other technical documents
NPI and Product Development Support
Assist in the validation of production drawings, work instructions and BOMs
Support labor studies
Quality
Inspection of incoming materials to work cells
In-process inspection of components and assemblies
Work with other team members to resolve material / assembly related issues
Record traceable and defect related data
Support and/or assist in root cause analysis
What You Bring
Post-secondary education in electronics and/or instrumentation
1-3 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably one that has embraced a Lean culture
1-3 years in electronics and/or electro-mechanical manufacturing
IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 experience is considered and asset
ISO 9001 experience is considered and asset
Able to understand BOMs and work orders
Strong computer proficiency
Experience using defect / bug tracking software
