Position Summary

Performs clerical and receptionist duties and maintains the physical environment of the area. Assures that all registration requirements for Emergency Room encounters and In-patient Admissions are accurate and completed. Responsible for capturing all financial and demographic information, assuring there is a physical presence in the Emergency Room Admitting area at all times.

Position Duties (Not all Inclusive)

• Greet patients in a courteous manner seeking admissions into a facility.
• Interact with patients and their families to obtain registration information.
• Prepare and process all admitting forms relating to patient admission.
• Prepare documents on clinical information for appropriate treatments.
• Verify insurance and other eligibility criteria.
• Perform verification, pre-certification and other applicable processes ensuring admissions.
• Communicate treatment processes and patient care delivery to patients and their families.
• Communicate patient rights, billing and payment procedures to patients or their families.
• Ensure compliance of hospital policies and procedures from patients and their families.
• Ensure implementation of best practices in treatments and patient care delivery.
