About the role

As an Associate working in a dynamic and high performing team, you will support the Directors and Associate Directors across complex transactions within the Major Projects team in Corporate Finance C&IB. You will be involved in all aspects of deal related activity including preparation of pitch packs, financial modelling, preparation of information materials and due diligence. You will also be exposed to a wide variety of asset classes including renewable energy, infrastructure and natural resources focusing primarily on the structuring and arranging of debt facilities and other capital sources.

Your key accountabilities will include:

• To assist in promoting ongoing growth of client franchise and continued product development.
• To actively promote and market the business internally and externally.
• To maintain and promote good working relationships and collaboration with all internal business partners.
• Have the skills and knowledge to perform their role to be compliant with local regulator and external legislation.
• Promote a team orientated work environment that is enjoyable and rewarding for employees, and consistent with the underlying objectives of the business.
• Ensure all personal training records are maintained and kept up to date.
• To conform with all internal operating policies and procedures relevant to the position.
• To provide professional and ethical behaviour in your actions by ensuring compliance with external legislation, bank standards and internal operating policies and procedures relevant to position.
• To escalate any problems, issues or risks which could potentially have a negative impact on any aspect of business operations, financial position or the level and quality of service provided to customers.

Your Capabilities, Experience & Qualifications will include:

• A degree in finance, accounting, engineering, commerce or law with a post-graduate qualification such as graduate diploma, masters, CFA, CA, or CPA and AFMA accreditation desired.
• Previous experience as an Analyst or Associate (or equivalent) in the corporate finance, banking or professional services industry
• Ability to be responsive and work as part of a high-performance team.
• Able to work to tight deadlines and undertake responsibilities proactively.
• Experience in building, updating or auditing financial models across corporate finance and project finance applications.
• Likely to have existing execution experience and demonstrate existing knowledge of industry clients, market and regulatory environment, coupled with a strong client service philosophy.
• Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to write to publication standard and have excellent oral communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrative experience in dealing with internal and external stakeholders to achieve a desired result.
