About the Opportunity*
The Commercial Finance & Planning Team are part of Group Services at MYOB; a hardworking and highly engaged team that use an outstanding breadth of skills to contribute to the strategic and commercial value of the organisation. #TheirWorkMatters because they support MYOB in its transformation towards a SaaS platform that helps customers make smarter business decisions, enabling them to start, survive and succeed.

Due to an internal promotion, an opportunity has presented to join us as our Head of Commercial Finance & Planning in a permanent role. Reporting to the CFO, this senior leadership role is responsible for leading and optimising Group ROI and prioritisation of investment – via leadership of both the annual budgeting process and our ‘ways of working’ which includes our 90-day planning process.

You’ll lead a successful team of Senior Commercial Finance Managers, Program Managers and a Group FP&A Manager to provide detailed financial and commercial modelling, whist supporting the successful execution of major business commercial initiatives and strategic programs. You’ll have 8 direct reports and a 16 in your broader team.

Key Responsibilities include

• Set the strategic direction and maintain a high performing and highly engaged team living our values
• Drive yearly financial budgets and quarterly forecasts for the organisation and deliver high quality business analysis of P&L, cash flow, capex and key operational metrics
• Leadership of our ‘ways or working’ including our speed and control system which has a foundation in a 90 day planning cycle
• Deliver high quality Board and Executive reporting of both financial and operational performance on a weekly and monthly basis
• Work with the CFO on the quarterly lender reporting and ad-hoc queries
• Proactively identify and address areas of revenue and profit improvements, cost reductions and process efficiencies
• Lead ad-hoc analysis on business performance when requested by Executive or Senior Leadership Team members
• Leadership of and/or involvement in business projects, such as M&A, taking ownership of commercial modelling and insights for the relevant initiative

About You

• Be highly motivated and have significant experience in a senior finance or commercial leadership role partnering with senior management teams with a track record of successfully translating organisational strategy into measurable commercial plans
• Previous experience in senior planning and analysis at a group level
• Demonstrated experience in finance, accounting or consulting
• Sophisticated problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires you to balance multiple competing demands on your time while taking ownership and responsibility for delivering against regular deadlines
• Strong leadership & influencing skills with highly developed stakeholder management skills
• Extensive commercial and strategic focus with a good working knowledge of finance and accounting
• Understanding of the SaaS software or technology industry preferred
• Relevant post-secondary qualification or substantial relevant work experience with CA or CPA qualification in finance related field would be preferred
