MyLand is looking for a passionate and engaged Talent Acquisition Specialist who will support internal communications, culture development, and human resources activities at all business our sites. We’re seeking a talent acquisition specialist to help us source, identify, screen, and on-board the best qualified candidates. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, two or three years of experience in talent acquisition, proficiency with applicant tracking systems, and an ability to devise sourcing strategies for potential applicants. This position will also provide support of the company’s semi-monthly payroll for 50+ employees. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills for working closely with others across various departments.
This role will initially directly to the People & Culture Manager.
Responsibilities
· Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and candidate selection criteria
· Provide training to hiring managers on the hiring process, diversity and inclusion, onboarding, and employee engagement
· Participate in events and represent MyLand at career fairs, schools, and the like for workforce attraction goals, while coordinating with hiring managers for participation
· Build a strong candidate pipeline by maintaining contact with candidates that can potentially fill future job openings
· Foster strong relationships through communication, collaboration, culture, creativity, and commitment and create a network of recruitment sources like universities, non-profits or social media contacts to share our open positions within order to attract the best and qualified candidates
· Drive inclusive candidate sourcing by leveraging professional networks, social media, job boards like Indeed, LinkedIn Recruiter (or similar platforms) to attract best talent to MyLand
· Maintain accurate and current job postings on the MyLand Careers site
· Create job descriptions and interview questions that reflect the requirements for each position
· Compile lists of most-suitable candidates by assessing their resumes, portfolios, and professional references
· Maintain records of all materials used for recruitment, including interview notes, and related on-boarding paperwork, to share with key stakeholders
· Onboard new hires by processing offer letters, new hire forms such as state-federal tax forms, direct deposits, background checks, collect necessary IDs for the completion of the i9 form and E-Verify process
· Track recruitment effort metrics and provide data and s on a regular basis to MyLand leadership
· Process semi-monthly payroll for active staff and generate s related to labor hours, overtime, turnover and wages
· Remind supervisors to review and approve staff timesheets and time off requests in a timely manner so that they are reflected on the appropriate paycheck
· Process any employee change forms for employee promotions, changes in pay/status and separations so they are reflected on the correct pay period
· Periodically audit personnel files to ensure the compliance in record keeping and accuracy
Required skills and qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, talent acquisition, or related
· Two years of experience in human resources with a strong focus on talent acquisition
· Strong interest in HR functions and best practices
· Fantastic organizational and time management skills
· Exemplary communication ability, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively influence
· Experience in full-cycle recruiting, using various interview techniques and evaluation methods
· Proficiency with social media, resume databases, and professional networks
· Experience in using LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed to proactively source candidates
· Proficiency in documenting processes and keeping up with industry trends
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
· Strong creative skills and meticulous attention to detail
