Summary

The Special Education Teacher will be embedded at the Sununu Youth Services Center and will be responsible for providing special education services, developing and implementing IEPs, and will work collaboratively with the Numeracy Instructor, Literacy Instructor, and Humanities Instructor to ensure that all students at Sununu Youth Service Center receive a well-rounded, robust education.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop IEPs and ensure compliance
• Provide special education services both individually and in classroom settings
• Provide regular communication with the MY TURN & SYSC leadership on student progress and other issues
• Conduct regular assessments to document student progress
• Maintain student documentation as required by MY TURN, SYSC, and the Department of Education
• As part of the Manchester Regional Team, provide regular and creative input for continuous program improvement

Job Requirements:

• Experience working with divers youth populations
• Degree in special education and/or related field
• Special education certification
• Ability to pass a criminal background screening
• Adherence to the NH Department of Education’s Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct for educators
