The Architect is responsible for the identification, analysis, and translation of business drivers into business information and technical architecture requirements while providing a customer perspective and input into I/S decisions. Provides overall direction, guidance, and definition of an architecture for a defined scope to effectively support the corporate business strategy and realize the target architecture.

The assignment will be filling a leadership role thats focused on modernizing and meeting the business needs of the Workplace Solutions Business Segment. This role will be collaborating with business and technical leadership to ensure business drivers are satisfied while aligning with our target architecture.

Performs work in I/S in some or all of the following Architecture specialties: Enterprise or Data. Has deep technical skills within a specialty.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Assists in the research, analysis, and translation of business drivers into business, information, and technical requirements that can transform a technical specialty.
• Contributes to the overall direction, guidance, and definition of business and enterprise architectures to effectively support business strategy through the use of models, frameworks, and other artifacts that guide and effectively support the corporate business strategy.
• Creates and maintains architecture frameworks and models using the organization’s choice of tool while promoting the use of appropriate architectural designs, models and processes.
• Supports the adoption of architecture principles, patterns, practices, and reference architectures to align with strategic solutions.
• Identifies potential risks and compliance concerns, sharing these with appropriate team members and decision makers.
• Acts as an advisor on architecture matters such as roadmaps, solution architecture details and impact projections as needed.
• Partners with I/S peers, management team members and business partners to assist in defining business and technical architectures, strategies and approaches.
• Researches and shares developing trends and innovations in business and technology that may be translated for appropriate use within the organization. Researches external advances and surfaces them for discussion and consideration.
• Participates and contributes to internal and external communities of practice. Represents enterprise wide architecture needs in internal and external meetings and discussions. Promotes knowledge sharing, training and collaboration with peers and partners across the enterprise. Participates in communities and industry initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO – Enterprise:

• Leads, prioritizes, and develops the overall enterprise architecture (EA) discipline for the enterprise.
• Plays a key role in leading and progressing architectural plans and activities in the organization.

WHAT YOU’LL DO – Data:

• Standardizes an organization’s data development environment, providing strategic coordination as well as tactical governance.
• Focuses on complex projects and data elements to provide consultation services in the technology space which spans horizontally across business domains to all levels across the organization.
• Contributes to the functional strategy and acts as a thought leader across multiple teams by maintaining a strong working relationship with internal and external partners.
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise data models and partnering with enterprise partners to integrate these models into their designs

This posting reflects the Architect I essential functions, qualifications, and physical requirements. The Architect II has variable essential functions and qualifications. Competency and skill set will determine level of placement within the posted job family.

ABOUT YOU:

• Possesses intermediate (1-3 experience/skills) level architect skills; deep technical knowledge and skills in one or more specialties; in-depth understanding of architecture principles, patterns and practices.
• Strong technical knowledge and strong business sense and acumen.
• Shows wide understanding of the specialty area, with the ability to apply practical and pragmatic solutions.
• Demonstrated communication skills, including ability to present recommendations for consideration to a wide variety of peers and business partners.
• Ability to perform activities with little guidance while partnering with senior members of the team on more complex activities.
• Willingness to listen to alternative views and create shared outcomes that build strong partnerships.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and apply the principles, patterns and practices that guide architectural alignment with business and technical strategies and initiatives.
• Strong ability to understand and apply logical reasoning and pattern recognition to make sound recommendations.
• Understands both business and technical strategies and the applications of these strategies across the enterprise.
• Ability to envision and create effective proposals to address change toward desired target architecture, business visions and outcomes, in a way that promotes acceptance and buy in.

• You are able to work remotely and have access to high-speed internet.

VALUABLE EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum number of years of experience: 1 to 10 years’ experience preferred.
• Exhibit a solid understanding of the organization’s business objectives and processes, and what drivers and trends are influencing the industry and ecosystem. Have a solid understanding of political and cultural aspects of the organization.
• Develop a detailed knowledge of the underlying data and data products and become the subject matter expert on content, current and potential future uses of data, and the quality and interrelationship between core elements of the data repositories and data products.
• Experience with Application Development and Cloud technologies.

• Estimated salary range: $110,000 – $145,000
