WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Reporting to the Director of Global Sourcing & Supply Chain, the Sourcing Lead will be the product expert for Mustang Survival. You will develop and maintain the source plan for short-, mid- and long-term basis in accordance with global sourcing strategy. You will develop factory relationships and capabilities to ensure delivery of quality products in a timely and consistent manner. The Sourcing Lead will develop plans and strategies that will address category specific margin goals as well as broader businesses delivery and financial performance objectives.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Participate in seasonal calendar product creation and review, ensuring all seasonal calendar timelines are met with cross functional teams

Lead and execute additional sourcing projects in support of government business channel or in support of strategic source changes

Collaborate with design & development and guide optimal seasonal product allocation

Develop finished goods sourcing strategies to support the sourcing of Mustang Survival products, taking consideration of business objectives, and external factors

Costing – Negotiate and confirm prices in a timely basis that meets or exceed Mustang Survival’s margin goals

Implementing and maintaining a working structure and process that enables strategic sourcing: data analytics, negotiations, decision making, placement, research, and reporting

Proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and understand current and future business requirements and needs

Searching for, reviewing, and selecting appropriate manufacturers both overseas and domestic, to support existing and future requirements

Negotiating and managing new business relationships and performance with suppliers

Lead vendor negotiations regarding program placements, timelines, cost, and volume

Continually analyzing the external market: emerging trends, challenges, issues, and competition

Facilitating, managing, and influencing business improvement and changes

Successfully onboard new suppliers

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO DO IT WELL:
University degree in a related discipline, i.e., Business Management, International Business, etc.

5+ years related experience in sourcing, supply chain and/or operations management

Must be able to assimilate, review and interpret complex multi-stakeholder information and needs into a coherent strategy and plan

Adept in gathering and analyzing data and detail to identify opportunities, improvements, cost savings through excellent negotiations skill, risks, etc.

Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing

Experience in outdoor apparel and products as well as retail complexities, an asset

Working knowledge of financial principles and analysis, forecasting and projections

High level of integrity, self-motivation, and results orientation

Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written

Effective time management, project management and organizational skill

Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholder requirements and inputs and work effectively leading and influencing cross-functional teams

Working knowledge of ISO9001, basic quality standards, and customs regulations is an asset

Working knowledge of North America domestic cut & sew manufacturing and Berry amendment requirements an asset

Travel domestically and/or internationally as needed for the business
