Allied Health Assistants (AHA) are members of the South West Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service multidisciplinary team. AHAs support the delivery of allied health services to clients of the Transitional Living Unit (TLU), and community based clients under the guidance and supervision of the delegating allied health professional.
The Transitional Living Unit (TLU) is a residential facility that accommodates up to four clients. It operates Monday to Friday. The AHA works with the team to assist clients to achieve maximum quality of life after acquired brain injury through facilitation of a therapeutic environment to meet the needs of individuals and their families.
Allied Health Assistants are rostered morning, evening and night shifts. The evening and night shift staff are required to work in isolation and be responsible for the health and safety of the clients in the TLU overnight.
