Position Purpose
The key purpose of this role will be to work collectively with the Head of Graduate Research
Training and Education to deliver HDR training (Kaadadjiny program) and HDR specific course
content for the Graduate Research School. This role will also assist in the development of new
HDR training and course materials as needed and in consultation with the Dean and Head of
Graduate Research Training and Education.

About the Work Area
The Murdoch University School of Graduate Research was formalized in 2021 to provide
excellence in the areas of HDR candidacy management, finance, recruitment and engagement
and education and training. The overall vision for the Graduate School is to enhance the
quality of graduate research and the research experience for all Higher Degree by Research
Candidates and increase the internal and external status and recognition of research
candidates and graduate research training at Murdoch University. Members of the Graduate
School will work together with HDR candidates, Academic and Professional Staff at Murdoch
University to help achieve this vision and promote excellence within the sector.

Key Responsibilities / Duties
1. Delivery of education and training content within the Kaadadjiny HDR training program
commensurate with expertise
2. Work with the Dean, Head of Graduate Research Education and Training, and College
Deans of Research to deliver content within HDR specific courses including the
Accelerated Research Masters with Training.
3. In consultation with the Dean and Head of Graduate Research Education and Training,
coordinate GRO501 (Research Methods), GRO602 (Research Impact) and GRO604
(Research Experience) within the Accelerated Research Masters with Training course.
4. Demonstrate and maintain a level of research scholarship consistent with the appropriate
Academic Career Framework KPIs.
5. Work effectively with the School Dean and Management team to achieve effective
operations and to deliver on University strategic KPIs.
6. Undertake special projects as directed by Dean.
7. Embody the University’s values within and beyond the University, building equality and
diversity and encouraging social responsibility.
8. Support the delivery of an engaging student experience, online and face to face, of
which excellence in research and quality education are fundamental, aligning to College
and University objectives.
9. Support and promote compliance with relevant legislation and University policies and
procedures, including equity and health & safety and exhibit good practice in relation to
same.
10. Participate on committees and working parties related to the College and University as
required.
11. Carry out, and assist with, miscellaneous activities as requested.
