Full Job Description

Accounting Manager

We are seeking an Accounting Manager! You will be responsible for the effective management of all accounting functions and report to and work closely with the Controller.

Responsibilities (for the Manager and staff):

Financial Reporting

• Conduct the monthly financial close and maintain supporting schedules.
• Work with the Finance Department to review key variances.
• Prepare the financial statements.

Banking and Cash Management

• Maintain cash management and banking files.
• Prepare documentation for wire transfers, especially for inventory purchases.

Accounts Payable / Receivables

• Process A/P purchases and related payments.
• Process A/R receipts, using input from the Credit and Customer Service departments.

Annual Audit

• Work with the Controller to organize and delegate all aspects of the annual audit.
• Prepare selected audit analyses.

Departmental Goals

• Prepare departmental goals and work with the staff to achieve and report on the goals.

Department Responsibilities

• Manage a staff of four.

Qualifications:

• Sound knowledge of GAAP.
• Degree in Accounting or Business preferred, not required.
• 6+ years of Accounting Management experience with 3+ years managing a department of at least 6 preferred.
• Ability to speak and write Mandarin is preferred, not required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with other departments regarding matters pertaining to the Accounting department.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to organize and direct the accounting staff to work toward a common goal such as for the annual audit and the monthly close.
• Experience in a wholesale consumer products industry (selling to retailers and via e-commerce) is a plus.
• The candidate must be “hands-on” and have demonstrated his/her ability to do key work in an Accounting department as well as train, motivate and mentor the staff.
• Oracle EBS experience is strongly preferred. ERP system implementation experience, which is currently ongoing and well, is also a plus.
