MTFA Architecture Hiring for Architectural Conservator at Arlington, VA Full Time

MTFA Architecture is seeking an architectural conservator with experience in historic preservation, who is committed to transforming visions, enhancing potential, and exceeding expectations in the built environment. In 2014, MTFA acquired John Milner Associates Preservation to form the nucleus of our growing historic preservation firm. We are dedicated to preserving and adapting historic buildings and sites nationwide. Preservation is what we do and what we have been doing for over 40 years.

MTFA Architecture has an immediate opening for an Architectural Conservator to work in our Arlington, VA office.

Ideal candidates for the position must have a Masters of Science in Historic Preservation with a conservation concentration or a Masters of Architecture with a certificate in conservation. Responsibilities include field investigation, materials testing, materials treatment, report writing, construction documents, and construction administration. Candidates must be able to demonstrate skills in historic research, AutoCAD. Full-time professional experience, particularly construction administration and specification writing skills, will be considered an advantage over other candidates. Preference will be given to those individuals with strong communication skills.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Senior Materials Conservator in MTFA Architecture’s Arlington, Virginia, office, but will also be involved in multidisciplinary projects with our preservation architects. Project work often entails travel throughout the United States.

• U.S. citizenship or permanent U.S. residency
