About the Role
Due to strong growth, and a robust pipeline of opportunities, M2P Engineering is looking for an Assistant Accountant/Undergraduate Accountant to join our Finance team, who is responsible for delivering an integrated, sustainable and high-quality accounting and reporting service to the business.
The Undergraduate / Assistant Accountant will assist with accounting for, and preparing reporting for the financial performance of the business working under the guidance of other members of the Finance team, to manage, report and review financial information of the organisation, to ensure effective cost management, controls and risk management.
Your tasks and duties will include:
- Accounts Payable processing including PO matching, entry of supplier invoices and credit card transactions
- Reconciliation of supplier accounts
- Accounts Receivable including preparation of invoices and reconciliation
- Reconciliation of supplier accounts;
- Managing general ledgers and ensure accurate financial record keeping
- Assisting with month end reconciliation including preparation of Balance sheet schedules;
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports
- Bank Reconciliation
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll journal entries
- Assist with preparation of GST/BAS/Payroll Tax;
About You
To be successful in this position, ideally, you will:
- Degree in Accounting or working towards completion
- Some experience and knowledge of key activities
- A good understanding of general accounting principles and Australian tax law;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- High level of attention to detail;
- Competency with Microsoft Office programs;
- Excellent time-management, organisation and prioritisation skills;
- A proactive, business-focused attitude; and
- The ability to work effectively both independently, and within a team environment
