Position Responsibilities:

Acts as a liaison between customers / patients, families and Hospital staff. Comforts assigned patients and families while attending the hospital services.

Assists all customers / patients with communication needs (responds to requests and inquiries, informs the hospital staff of special requirements, provides site information or tours, responds to callers needing assistance, etc.).

Communicates the customer / patients’ problems, questions, complains and concerns to appropriate staff members immediately.

Follows up with customers / patients and the staff to ensure the timely and appropriate resolution of any issues or complaints.

Assists customers / patients in the compliance of Hospital policies and procedures, providing information and referring them to the proper service required.

Maintains appropriate customer / patient employee confidentiality at all times as observed by the Supervisor.

Promotes guest relations presenting a positive reflection of Mount Sinai to Physicians customers / patients, visitors and staff through a courteous and appropriate personal attitude.

Assists in the preparation of s regarding tracking of activities for the assigned area(s).

Follows Patient Safety goals as established by the department; supports effective responses to adverse and sentinel events; provides an on-going proactive approach to reduce risk; integrates patient safety as a priority into new and existing processes.

Is available to participate as a member of either Team A or Team B of the Hurricane Activation Plan, as assigned.

Complies with current Hospital security and safety polices & All other tasks assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

One year practical experience in computer usage. One year prior experience in registration, collections and insurance verifications preferred.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

High school Diploma or equivalent level of training. Some college preferred.
