Salary $92,059.00.00 – $97,712.00 per annum

(Dependent on qualifications and experience)

An opportunity exists within Mount Isa City Council for a Finance Coordinator to join our Corporate and

Community team until 2023. The purpose of the role is to efficiently manage the finance function of Council

and provide high level advice and support to the other Council departments, assisting the Manager of

Finance and Information Technology in the performance of their duties.

The successful applicant will have:

• Provision of business analyst advice;

• Responsible for the preparation of the annual budget and budget amendments;

• Responsible for the preparation of the annual financial statements and audit liaison;

• Oversee maintenance of the asset register, coordination of asset revaluations, and providing asset

management advice;

• Provision of advice on the financial implications of major decisions;

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll;

• Financial modelling;

• Oversee the preparation of grant acquittals and Government returns;

• Supervising, mentoring, and training the finance teams;

• Ensuring compliance with Government legislation and the Australian Accounting Standards;

• Coordinate support and training in financial matters to other departments;

• Monthly reporting;

• Oversee general ledger maintenance;

• Out of ordinary hours work may be required;

• You are required to follow any other lawful and reasonable directives provided by your Supervisor or

more senior officer;

• Council reserves the right to change these duties at any time.
