Mott MacDonald Hiring for Accounts Payable Assistant Job at London, England Full Time

The role is based in Croydon but we are considering candidates from other parts of the UK to join a team of 7 with team members working remotely.
While the below points describe general responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

• Processing of invoices – including scanning, allocating to divisional checkers and submitting for approval, as well as matching to purchase orders and following up on goods receipting.
• Chasing unallocated/unapproved invoices if necessary.
• Investigating debit balances & clearing these.
• Organisational skills to follow up on any debit balances on a regular basis.
• Bacs run checking and querying any discrepancies both internally and externally as necessary and updating vendors.
• Reconciling accounts payable suspense/clearance accounts, including uploading/validating journals.
• Validating rates/period charged by subcontractors are within their contractual terms.
• Processing and checking of foreign currency invoices/payments.
• Reconciliation of subconsultants invoices against timesheets & raise tickets for any discrepancies
• Reconciliation of disputed/held Items and querying with division whether these have been cleared to be released for payment.
• Reconciliation of accounts payable control account.
• Assisting with filing/archiving as needed.

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant with previous experience /AAT certification

• Accuracy in being able to obtain check and validate invoices
• Ability to work with and input data
• Proficiency in Excel (preferential)
• Excellent communication and bookkeeping skills
• The Ability to work in a team and collaborate with colleagues working remotely
• Ability to think analytically
• Experienced in a similar field/currently studying AAT
