Now about the role…
We are at the beginning of a technology journey that is going to take Motorpoint to the forefront of the technical landscape for the next 2 decades as we look to change the Motorpoint technical landscape. It is a very exciting time to join us.
Backend Engineers are at the core of what we do. Yeah, sure we make some killer React apps too – but fundamentally, our clients count on us for our backend chops! Whether that’s using Kinesis streams, lambdas & elastic search clusters to build data pipelines that process and store data from tens of thousands of live calls every day; or harnessing the power of Serverless, API-Gateway and Lambda to build lightning-fast, scalable APIs to power our front-end apps, we’re the team that delivers the core functionality that users love, rely on & use on the daily.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a difference and to make their mark on a market leading UK PLC.
What we are looking for:

• Daily development with either TypeScript or JavaScript
• A passion for building highly testable, effective and maintainable systems
• Strong application and API development experience with Node.js
• Experience with AWS Services – ideally Lambda, API Gateway, Dynamo
• Good knowledge of software design fundamentals/principles (e.g. SOLID)
• Experience working within Agile teams
