Objectives of this role

• Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
• Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
• Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions.
• Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating for continual improvement.
• Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications.
• Providing technical support to clients by identifying and resolving hardware or software problems.
• Providing technical support to clients by identifying and resolving hardware or software problems.
• Providing technical support by creating documentation and training materials for new computer system users.

Core Technologies

Kubernetes (Rancher), Docker, Ansible.

• Jenkins.
• Linux. (Bash & Shell Scripting)
• AWS, GCP, Azure.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
• Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
• Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts.
• Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives.

Required skills and qualifications

• Demonstrated competency with the following AWS services: ECS, EC2, ECR, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, SQS, OpenSearch.
• Knowledge of operating system administration.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience in creation of highly automated infrastructures.
• Comprehensive knowledge regarding contemporary processes and methodologies for development and operations.
• Strong understanding of how to secure AWS environments and meet compliance requirements.
• Experience with multi-tier architectures: load balancers, caching, web servers, application servers, databases, and networking.

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Previous success in technical engineering.
• Experience in SRE and/or DevOps.
• Coding experience beyond simple scripts
• Experience with scripting languages. (Python, Ruby, Perl)
• Experience with monitoring tools. (Nagios, Zabbix, Datadog)

Salary Range

$90k-$110k
