MCF owns and operates Silver Willow Lodge and Designated Supportive Living providing 80 residents with accommodation, services, and care so they can remain in a small-town community.

Position Overview:

The Food Services Coordinator is responsible for leading a team to produce the highest quality of food preparation and presentation to our residents, while maintaining a working environment where continuous improvement is the standard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop a high-quality dietary team by effectively recruiting, training, and monitoring employees to ensure high levels of product quality and satisfaction.
• Display exceptional leadership by providing a positive work environment.
• Plan a menu for residents, within budget and according to the Canada Food Guide and MCF’s standards.
• Produce quality meals that are visually pleasing and follow a pre-determined menu.
• Create dishes that are made from scratch using products that are locally grown and sourced. Showcase these products to the residents, families, and community.
• Ensure inventory is adequately maintained.
• Achieve the highest standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitization in all work areas.
• Exhibit leadership qualities in the field of safety.

Qualifications:

We’re committed to hiring the best talent for the role. Here’s how you would be successful in the role:

• Post-secondary diploma or certificate in culinary-related field is required; Red Seal Certification preferred.
• A minimum of three years’ culinary experience in large quantities food preparation is required.
• Previous culinary leadership and / or management experience is required.
• Two – three years’ experience ordering all products and supplies to ensure smooth operations and delivery of meals.
• Safe Food Handling Certificate, Standard First Aid, WHIMIS is an asset.
• Must have strong working knowledge on the use of computers, including Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to provide a clean Criminal Record check with Vulnerable Sector search.
