Mortgage House is an active participant in the Securitisation (RMBS) market.
The Accounts Officer is responsible for reconciling Bank accounts, managing Accounts payable and Receivable function. You will also manage the daily banking system (EIB) and company’s accounting software (MYOB) to ensure that they are up to date with real time information. The role also requires commission processing and month end reporting. You should present a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill and understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principle.
Your ability to multi-task, learn quickly and continuously improve processes will help team achieve its goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under the direction of the Financial Controller, you will:
• Reconcile Bank Accounts (daily)
• Manage accounts payable and receivables
• Reconcile and maintain the Group of Companies data in its accounting system – currently MYOB
• Maintain the electronic filing system of accounts information and data Commission processing, enquiries, recording and payment
• Daily reconciliation of the group’s mortgage Loan Management System
• Complete management accounts specifically profit and loss and balance sheets including amortisation and depreciation records for designated accounts
• Ensure at all times and in all circumstances all relevant databases (e.g. electronic mortgage management system – e-mms) are maintained with current real time information
• Conduct general data entry and administration
• Assist with audit activities as required.
• Other duties as assigned by Management

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• 1-2 year experience withing Mortgage Industry will be highly regarded
• Presents a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill / knowledge relevant to the role, whilst keeping up with current developments and trends in area of expertise
• Sound knowledge and understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles Knowledge in electronic account reconciliations, specifically bank reconciliation Solid planning and organising skills to establish a process and allocates appropriate resources to achieve goals
• Excellent verbal communication/telephone skills including the proven ability to listen effectively
• Capability to analyse situations and use initiative
• Ability to solve problems and see relationships when working with numerical and written information
• Strong time management skills including the ability to cope and adjust readily to pressures and changes in the work environment
• Computer and keyboard skills are essential with the capacity to keep pace with technology changes and advancements
• Ability to understand and promote the group‘s services
• Well-developed computer skills
