Morson Talent are working exclusively with Rolls Royce SMR (Small Modular Reactors) to develop a new verification team, who will play a pivotal role in the development and engineering of SMR technology through a complex lifecycle.
They are now looking to recruit for a nuclear security manager, who’s role is operationally and corporately focused, within the framing of a nuclear environment. Therefore, it is important that candidates have recent experience coming from a similar role within the nuclear sector, having experience which is reflective of the responsibilities below.

Essential
• Extensive knowledge of current regulation in the UK civil nuclear (security) industry
• A proven track record in successfully leading the development and delivery of operational/performance security requirements in a nuclear context.
• Experience of driving the security conversation with diverse audiences (leadership and engineers) and taking ownership of instilling security cultures across respective business functions
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of all aspects of physical security technologies
• Experience in leading multi-site teams in complex environments
• Experience in leading the delivery of security within projects at the operational level, with a significant input to strategic security plans
Desirable
• Preparing and agreeing security governance structures (Policy, Directives, Processes & Procedures) across large and complex stakeholder communities
• Demonstrable experience in leading and undertaking threat and vulnerability assessments and producing supporting documents/analyses
• Excellent knowledge of CPNI processes/procedures and security industry codes and standards
Soft skills
• Ability to offer sound and pragmatic security advice and inputs to both security and non-security audiences to guide SMR programme leads in defining and achieving the success criteria for security
• The ability to guide and influence decision makers, in the application of proportionate and appropriate physical security controls to achieve security milestones
Qualifications & Experience
• Demonstrable experience in a security management role/environment
• Globally recognised security qualification, i.e. ASIS PSP/CPP, CSMP, etc.
• CPNI security training packages
Additional
• Analytical security mindset and an innovative approach to conventional security
• Must have the ability to achieve the criteria for SC or higher vetting
• Experience in UK CNI projects (e.g. oil, gas, etc.) would be beneficial
• Additional knowledge in one or all of the following areas
o Security Engineering
o Blast protection/engineering
o Counter Terrorism
o Counter-Intelligence & Security
o Crime Prevention through Environmental Design
